For 15 years, I was a classroom teacher serving students in Kindergarten through Grade 3 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in Reading. While I loved my experience as a classroom teacher, I wanted to find an opportunity to serve children in a different capacity. I was drawn to the mission of Brightlane Learning, specifically the concept of providing educational advocacy to children impacted by homelessness.

Education can change lives! It has a direct impact on a child’s future and how they view the world around them, allows them to think critically and independently, and opens up opportunities in order to break the cycles of poverty and abuse.
