Learning Assistant

I have a degree in Secondary English Education and K-12 Reading. After taking time off to raise my kids, I am eager to return to school and reengage with students.

When my own children were in school and asked me, “Why do I have to learn this?” I always explained that it was not the content, be it Algebra or Biology, that was particularly important, but rather it was “learning how to learn” that was the lesson. Each and every one of us has something to offer this world, and in order to discover what we do best, we have to practice using our brains on subjects in the world around us. Without school to help us figure out how best to use our minds, we would flounder and miss our opportunity to discover our gifts.
