Future in Bloom: Flowers for Brighter Futures

Blog

November is National Homeless Youth Awareness Month, and we are marking the month with a creative collaboration that highlights the power of community and local business.

Brightlane has teamed up with Posh Petals, a locally owned floral studio to launch a custom “Future in Bloom” arrangement, debuting November 5. The design is perfect for Thanksgiving tables or as a thoughtful host gift, and a portion of every sale supports Brightlane’s academic and mentoring programs for local students.

According to research from Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago, 1 in 30 youth aged 13–17 experience some form of homelessness each year.

In Indiana alone, nearly 19,000 students experiencing homelessness are enrolled in schools, according to the most recent date from the Indiana Department of Education (22/23), which is a powerful reminder that these challenges are close to home and demand our collective awareness and action.

This partnership showcases how small, locally owned businesses can make a big community impact—offering a tangible way for Hoosiers to give back during the holiday season while raising awareness about youth homelessness in central Indiana.

You can purchase your Future in Bloom arrangement between now and November 21 to help create brighter futures for unhoused students. Learn more about other ways to give back and do good when you shop local this holiday season.
